Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha

The Vidyapeetha, which was founded in 1956 by the late Vidvan M. R. Gopalacharya, was subsequently built in 1973, taking into account the projected growth of the institute for about a century. The actual growth, however, out-paced the anticipated growth in terms of the number of students undertaking the Vedic studies, devotees visiting the temple, performance of religious sacraments and rites and discourses conducted creating, in less than three decades, an acute shortage of space and the resultant over-crowding. Added to this was the Vidvan’s Charisma that continued to attract increasing number of devotees to visit the temple that warranted a fresh look at the institute and in April 2006, a committee of experts was appointed to look into the matter.>Get more details on Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha

Bhakta Sangham Temple

Bhakta Sangham was formed in 1972, with an objective to promote Namasankeertanam due to which the weekly Bhajan conducted every Saturday has been an inborn ritual. In between 70s and 80s this was conducted in any of the devotees’ residence who has the liking for Namasankeertanam and considers the conducting of the Bhajan in his residence a proud privilege. If no devotee has booked the bhajan, the same would be conducted in the Sanghams office which was situated in the terrace flat of Laxmi Swami Niwas, Valji Ladha Road, Mulund (W). Gradually, the Sangham started conducting Mandala Pooja Celebrations in the month of December, regularly, which culminated in many of the members going to Sabarimala to attend the Makara Villaku festival. The Mandala pooja celebration goes for about 15 days, with rendering of discourses by eminent artists from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Progressively, the concept of Saptaham – rendering of Narayaneeyam and Bhagavatham for Seven days continuously was introduced by Bhakta Sangham in Mulund. All these programs were conducted in Sarswat Wadi @ Bhramhapuri Hall as it is famously known among the south Indian community in Mulund – which had a good capacity of holding about 2000 people at a time. It also had areas for cooking during Mandala pooja festival which was convenient to organize the preparation of meals to cater to all the devotees.
